Matlab file reading error

Hi, I was trying to use the plotting files, but I keep getting this type of error, for the vel/pos/scattered .txt files

_"Error in plot_1d_mot (line 5)
output = utils.read_output(fullfile(wd, 'pos.txt'));"_

I'm pretty sure its not a path issue because they are in the same directory as the Matlab files, and I tried pasting them in other directories to see if that could fix the problem.

I'm using R2021b

Hi,

Did you also init and recursively pull the submodules? (Check if your utils folder is empty or not). The read_output function is located in this repo

Hi,
I have the same issue. The problem comes from the while ~feof(fh) from utils.read_output. I checked what Elliot suggests without success.
I am using Matlab R2022b
Is there a way to solve it?

Hey @lufermar ,

Let me check this out. Long term I think it will make sense to ditch matlab for an open source equivalent like python - I've had some issues getting access to matlab since leaving Oxford Physics.

BTW, I strongly recommend using the bevy branch - it will replace main sometime in the next few months
