This is a continuation of:
#919

AC1. Improve on the list of recently viewed articles which is populated from the last N articles that the user had viewed. This should now dynamically change with the use of JS
AC2. Improve on the list of popular search terms (and their results), which is populated from the trending search terms in TM.

• This should now take into account the user feedback of the search results page to the search query,
• should be normalized to universal spelling of the query (XSS=Cross Site Scripting)
• Popular search terms only updated after clicking the search icon TM_4_0_Design#338

AC3. A list of top N articles. This is a curated list that we believe are important at the moment.

• This should also take into account the feedback loop of number of articles viewed and number of "thumbs up" for each article
• The "per user" configurable filters as described in As a user, I shoudl be able to choose any filter as "Always ON Filter", such that through all of my navigation and/or searching this filter is automatically applied. #947 should be configurable to apply or not to apply, to these top N articles. AC4. A list of new articles. A list of top N new articles that were recently published in TM

• Show a list of 5-6 New/Updated articles in the main page (WAS:Feature Request: Show NEW or UPDATED article filters) TM_4_0_Design#345 (also related to Where do we get the 'New Articles' data from? TM_4_0_Design#176)

AC5. A list of "My Saved Searches". Containing the search terms (and their results) that the user had saved. This is identical to My Search Items in the navigate menu
AC6. A list of "My Saved Articles" containing a list of articles that the user had saved. This is identical to "My Articles" in the Navigate Menu.
AC7. A list of "My previous 5 searches" containing last 5 successful searches the user performed.

Regarding AC3, if a person is a Java developer, they may not want to see non-Java top articles, for example. Is this something that will be filtered based on user prefs or just displayed?

Good point. This should be configurable based on user setting.
