How to make inline equations also have proper line height

This plugin is awesome!!!

This kind of odd shearing effect happens to me for display equations. It seems better when I disable the number column. Is there anything I may be doing wrong?

I have a few autocommands that toggle relative numbers vs. absolute numbers, but they don't seem to be the culprit.
