running the script in a LXC and it quits with this after updating debian 13 packages. chmod doesn't fix the permissions. i'm running a default proxmox 9 install (community repos)

I get the same error any thought in how to ammend this. But in a VM not in a LXC. An Ubuntu server install

I have the same issue with the LXC but using tmux was able to work around it.

Thanks for the detailed report.

This issue is not caused by Proxmox itself, but by using screen inside an LXC container.
In many containers screen is not setuid and cannot be used safely,
which causes exactly the behavior you are seeing.

The installer has been updated to no longer rely on screen.
The Minecraft server is now started using a direct background process (nohup)
and logs are written to /var/log/minecraft.log.

This approach is more robust and avoids permission and runtime issues in LXC environments.
Please pull the latest version of the installer and try again.
