Post-Staff of Life Questline

After the Galactic Core has been reached, there isn't much left to do in the space stage; sure, you can face off against the Grox, but there is no more main questline available after reaching the Core.

It would be neat if Solar Spore added more goals that are unlocked after getting the Staff of Life.
These likely will include several adventure-based missions, alongside other unique quests (e.g #6), that are completed in a specific order.

The idea here is for the questline to be building up something, such as a weapon for taking over planets - possibly something like the TX-5000 Super Weapon from the Maxis adventure with the same name?

Either way, a large post-SoL questline would give the player a goal to work towards.

It could work well for this questline to result in the player unlocking two powerful tools - one to send a squad of surgical drones to destroy nearby, non-homeworld colonies of an empire.
The other would be a kill-switch for the Grox - a weapon that only works on a Grox planet, takes about 20 seconds or so to fully charge from the energy of the planet before it wipes them from the system, but also alerts Grox forces to rush towards your ship to attempt to defeat you.

The drone squad would only work on the Grox after getting the kill switch, and will outright bust the planets. Meanwhile, the Grox themselves would be buffed to the level of making a regular attack impossible, outside of the homeworld - which you will need to capture the normal way, rather than in the Grox way.
