Introduce concept of portals (refers to Forks and Stairs) #50
Description
We think of Forks and Stairs both as "portals" between separate hallways. When we want to talk about Forks and Stairs collectively, we have often been calling them nodes, but this is no longer accurate as of 0.2.0.
