Text messed up when using MM Reloaded HD o2r

Description of the bug:

Hardware is a Retroid Pocket Mini v2

Downloaded the HD o2r version of the MM Reloaded mod and when activating the assets I have issues with messed up text (see pic). I also tried building the o2r from source uncompressed but no luck. I've tried tweaking every graphics and enhancement setting I can think of, manually editing the json, disabling turnip drivers, appending z_ to the mod pack file name, nothing works.

Can you reproduce? If so please list the steps:

• Yes, here are the steps to reproduce the bug:

1. Download the MM Reloaded 2ship HD pack from here
2. Extract it to the mods folder
3. Enable alt assets
4. Select options on the file select screen

Expected behavior:

All text should be readable and not whatever is going on in the screenshot
