Tests failing on older Julia version

For some reason, this package's tests sometimes fail depending on the version of Julia and the os.
See the results of this workflow where all versions from 1.3 through nightly are tested, on linux, macOS, and windows. I am not sure if this has something to do with how the artifacts system is evolving, but the fact that all tests pass on the nightly version give some hope that things will just work on 1.6.

Update: CI tests now pass on 1.6 on Windows and MacOS, but are still failing on linux. I have tested the package on my linux machine locally, and it works, so I think there may be something wrong with the CI setup for the github actions.
