Restart Solis Manager option does not work for Raspi direct installs

I install Solis Manager using the Raspi code and not via Docker.

In these circumstances, Solis Manager cannot be restarted via the Tools menu. It kills the running version but does not reload it.

Just to warn anyone else. I'm not sure if it can be easily fixed.

Yeah, not unexpected. "Restart" just exits the process, it's up to the calling code to actually start a new one. This works with Docker which auto restarts a container that exits, but anything else may need additional work.

As a newbie to coding (I know absolutely zilch). I wondered if anyone has a step by step guide for installing to docker since it appears to make updates and power on auto starts easier

@MartyMoose30053, the docker compose sample given in the SAM readme is the easiest way to get up and running in docker, however it does need an existing docker environment. It would be really tricky to create a generic one size fits all step by step guide, there's just to many variables .

I'd say your best "starter for 10" is the official docker docs for docker desktop. This covers the "common" installation scenarios (Linux, windows, Mac)

YouTube is also full of good basic video guides, have a search for "how to install docker on x" (where X is your OS of choice).

Once you have docker installed, the next step is understanding docker compose, again the official docs at https://docs.docker.com/compose/ are a great starter, and again there are plenty of good video tutorials on YouTube.
