Using PLUS accounts in VSCODE for MacOS

I've tried managing 2 or 3 different codex accounts and the results are the same. The switcher recognizes them and can swap around auth data without complaining, but I don't think it's actually doing anything to the codex session. It doesn't know accounts have switched.

If on one account I hit the 5 hours threshold, switching to a different account produces the same threshold error. The only way around it seems to be to log out, restart vs code and do a fresh CLI LOGIN, which renders the switcher of no use other than to act as a label/reminder of which account I'm using.

If there's debug data I can pull, I'm happy to provide it - just need some instructions on where/how to grab it.

I ran into the same underlying problem while debugging this locally.

The switcher was updating auth.json, but the Codex extension was keeping its current session state in memory, so switching accounts did not actually refresh the active Codex session until VS Code was reloaded.

I opened #13 to address that by restarting only the extension host after a successful profile switch/import, which makes Codex re-read auth.json without requiring a full VS Code window reload.

While investigating, I also found a separate but related profile-state recovery issue in the switcher UI and opened #14 for that.

As a temporary workaround, running Developer: Restart Extension Host right after switching profiles should refresh Codex without restarting the whole VS Code window.

If you are able to test once #13 is available in a build, that would be very helpful.

In your testing have you noticed any oddities in how quickly codex is expiring its quotas while using your plugin?

I have been seeing quotas expiring faster and faster each and every day. On no account will the 5 hour limit last more than 2.5 hours anymore.

Today it claims I blew through the 5 hour limit in about 40 minutes and having only analyzed a few log files.

OpenAI is definitely tweaking their black box to screw users and where 2 plus accounts worked well, I find now even with 3 I can't get half a week's use.
