Met / AIC / CMA Roulette (Expo + React Native)

Random public-domain artworks from The Met, Art Institute of Chicago (AIC), and Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA). Runs on iPhone (via Expo Go), iOS Simulator, and Web.


Prereqs (macOS)

  • Node.js (LTS) + npm
    • Install with Homebrew: brew install node
    • Or download: https://nodejs.org
    • Check: node -v && npm -v
  • Git (usually installed): git --version
  • Expo CLI (optional; you can also use npx expo):
    npm install -g expo-cli
    
    
    

1) Clone the repo

git clone https://github.com/adamlacue/Met-Roulette.git cd Met-Roulette

2) Install deps

npm install

3) Start the dev server

npx expo start

Get a fresh project

When you're ready, run:

npm run reset-project

This command will move the starter code to the app-example directory and create a blank app directory where you can start developing.
