lap execution on Debian

Hi,
Is it possible to execute this tool from Debian?
There is a file "lap.go", not "lap". Is this normal?
When I execute "lap.go -h", there are error message, due to Linux distribution I believe?!

This project is written in Golang and the files in this repository are the source files, not the compiled binaries. To execute the lap tool, first you need to download and install the compilers/tools. After that, you should be able to run go build in a local directory with this source code and it will compile into a binary. You will then be able to execute that.

It has been a long time since I've had a use for this tool, but it was once tested and confirmed working on Windows, OSX and a couple of Linux distros.
