does it happen when you dont talk or does it happen when you talk as well?

probably a one off thing but would love to hear more.

The same issue here. I hit the hotkey and after a second there is this:

No matter what I say, nothing changes. I tried to restart the app. Didn't help. Version 1.6.7

This is a known issue and it is just noise because of the pop up sound of the overlay. If you start talking it should go away!

Eitherway will fix it soon.

Same here on 1.6.7, macOS 26.5.2, Apple Silicon, using Nemotron Speech 3.5.

Triggering the hotkey and saying nothing (or only a brief sound) sometimes produces "Thank you" / "Obrigado" as output instead of empty text. I'd expect a no-speech recording to insert nothing, not a phantom artifact.

+1 on tracking this together with the silent-recording case (#294): a lightweight VAD/energy threshold that discards buffers with no detectable speech should prevent the model from hallucinating on near-silence — including the overlay pop sound mentioned above.
