I am not working on this project and cannot comment on its status.

I am working with a team that investigated the BERT problems with AMD GPUs pointed out in the same twitter thread. We just published a Gist about our findings and suggested solutions: Solutions to problems with BERT training with tinygrad on AMD GPUs

Regarding the robustness against malformed queues, we have some improvements in our public kernel code since July. They will be included in the next ROCm release 6.3. I pointed to those improvements in Gist as well.
