I've been into Android custom ROMs for about 5–6 years, starting out as just a user, then becoming a tester, and eventually getting a bit nerdy about how Android works under the hood. As a custom ROM user, I always had this idea that if I ever built an app, I'd want it to feel like an AOSP app—clean, polished, and simple, similar to Electron (the battery monitoring app).

I knew a little Android development, but I wasn't deeply involved in the actual coding. My role was more like a supervisor or product manager guy. I built this in around 70 hours of work (not continuously, of course). Claude played a huge role in the development, but I had a clear vision of what I wanted, so I kept refining, testing, and iterating until I got the bug count down to fewer than 10.

That said, I'm still not fully satisfied with it. The biggest issue is that it requires Shizuku. Since I'm from India, some of the banking and payment apps I use daily flag it as a suspicious app, which prevents me from using certain services. Because of that, I stopped using it myself after about a week.

Right now, I'm trying to find a way to remove the dependency on Shizuku. Let's see if I can figure something out—or maybe you can help me find a solution.

Thanks for your detailed reply. I'm based in China, and honestly, Shizuku is still the most convenient option for me. You only need to grant permission once, and it works continuously without repeated authorizations.

I was thinking we could also use Android's Accessibility Service to gain the required permissions, but the downside is you’d have to re-enable it every time you use the app.

As a student with limited technical experience, I may not be able to offer much help on the development side. Still, I’d like to share a few thoughts about the features. Since your app already syncs keyboard and mouse, it would be great to add support for audio and other peripherals, along with clipboard synchronization(The AudioPlaybackConnector project supports audio functions, yet it relies on Bluetooth and is only available as a desktop application). That would definitely make the app much more compelling.

Also, I’m not sure if this is a device-specific issue on my end, but I can’t auto-connect or quickly reconnect to previously trusted devices. I have to enter the IP address manually every single time.

Yes as I said there are few bugs, but less but less then 10 as far as I know. Although thanks for giving me a push to start working on this again. I actually do these in my free time. And I am really lazy on holidays and weekends 😭. But I will try to add the features you asked me for and also fix that saved server reconnection and that.

Also i do know about thet AoA but it's not that reliable+it can't simulate the mouse cursor so I'll have too keep looking for something more better for me. Or find a way to hide developer options on a non rooted device.

I can root my device but as I said I am lazy.

Anyways, Great talking to you. I will keep this issue open until I fix that reconnection issue.
