No way to pass in --server option?

This package only connects to the localDB. Anyway to pass in --server option?

I've tried this workaround but it does not work for me. I would have to re-write a lot of client code to get this working. I just want the desktop app to connect to meteor server like normal. Don't really care about hot code push for desktop app
