increasing vertical resolution

Might it work to use U+2584 (LOWER HALF BLOCK) and the background to get 2 pixels per terminal location. I've done something similar in Go, but don't yet have the Rust chops for a PR. Thanks for writing this!

I haven't had enough time yet to really give this a try but I've looked at how this is implemented elsewhere and I think I understand.

I think there's a problem in applying this trick to TUI, except in the case where this widget is full-screen, because we might be sharing lines (horizontal screen space) with other widgets. Even if we output half-height blocks, other widgets wouldn't be aware.

Please let me know if that makes sense to you, or if I'm missing something which could make this work.

There is another step, and that is doing quadrant block resolution (example: https://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/char/2599/index.htm)

Trickier, since limited to 2 colors - but could make these images even more crisp. Not fully sure if it is worth it though?
