It may be possible to convert HMD rotation to mouse X/Y input, so the viewport rotates with head movements.
however, the virtual screen would need to be fixed so we could have a pseudo-VR in geo-11 games that could be modded to make the mouse aim rotate the camera if the game doesn't already support it.
And disabling rotation could reduce a bit of overhead if the VR view isn't actively requesting/receiving 6DOF updates.
