This is more involved since the JWST imaging GWCS doesn't have an identical SIP representation so an approximation is required. This probably requires making the user interface more involved, allowing different levels of accuracy and the ability to store the SIP approximation back into the ASDF file for future use by ds9.
Other than the specifics of knowing how to obtain the GWCS for JWST files, much of this can be made general for ASDF imaging data from other sources if they use GWCS.
