About the bitmaps

Hi there,

I am trying to involve fmbt into my android project and after this example, I was wondering how to get these bitmaps from device? Is DDMS used or other tools?

Hi Ethan,

Nowadays I'd use fmbt-scripter for selecting bitmaps from Android device screenshots. The first version of fmbt-scripter was released in fMBT 0.12 last week. It's under heavy development (getting better almost every day), so I'd recommend using it from the fMBT's devel branch.

To use the tool, connect an Android device to your host and launch fmbt-scripter. You can give it your AAL/Python code or Python script as a commandline parameter, or choose File / New Android to start from scratch. Whenever the text cursor is on a bitmap string ("filename.png") in the editor, you can press the select button to choose it from the screenshot.

Another way for selecting bitmaps from screenshots is by fetching screenshots with Python and opening some application that can do the job. Some people use Gimp, or you can use just display & shutter, for instance, as shown here:
