Can't send GIFs from Beeper desktop client
Note: don't underestimate this topic ... not only do you need to check how the GIF looks on LINE's end and Beeper Desktop/Mobile end you will also need to deal with 1:1s, groups, business accounts, "play GIF by default" settings, users that have end to end encryption (less critical as LINE has forced the setting ON for all users BUT i have encountered edge cases such as for example very old groups where some users are inactive thus rendering the group not end to end encrypted or simply messaging an inactive user on 1:1).
Oh yeah ... You also must test everything with a sender and a receiver. So having two accounts ready for testing is highly recommended.
This is why the history looks dense below. There were multiple attempts at fixing it and since I was trying to just knock it out in one go I failed to deliver it. Lost access to the second account, had idle time, then lost the context and just tried to redo it a few times.
Whoever works on this may want to split this into smaller issues. Have fun 😅
