possibility to use the GPIO of a Companionpi Satellite

Hello everyone,
would it be possible to use the GPIO of a Satellite PI to expand the GPIO module from 27 to more possible inputs?
Another advantage would be the decentralized use of GPIO input triggers to a Compnionpi control center.

Satellite isn't capable of running modules, so this isn't a supported flow.
There are probably some other tools which could be run on the satellite pi and allow a different companion module to trigger them, I don't know of any but something will exist
