Project structure should be redefined

Project structure should be redefined and the makefile should give the option to install the software.

Have you considered using CMake as build system? Even if it is for cross-platform compilation.

Edit: I found Meson to be simpler and faster — thanks to Ninja build system — than CMake. Maybe worth a try... :)
