Reduce duplication in recipe with variable

I have this file: alper/alpernl@5599d61#diff-deb9bb56fb122db0b605aa5b63f95a4665c905b18dd670e1fa6c877576a94ff1R7

This does pretty much entirely what I want. The only thing doing my head in (and what I gather here more people) is that you can't set variables inside a recipe.

What would be my options to reduce the duplication here and factor out the path?

_write title:
    echo "New path: content/posts/{{ title }}/index.md"
    hugo new content/posts/{{ title }}/index.md
    code content/posts/{{ title }}/index.md

For this specific case, especially since it's a private/hidden recipe, you can set the path as another recipe parameter with a default value referencing the preceding title parameter:

_write title path=('content/posts/' + title + '/index.md'):
    echo "New path: {{path}}"
    hugo new {{path}}
    code {{path}}
