The LC-3 tools by David Lumetta are GPL licensed, which is a no-go for the iOS App Store (http://michelf.ca/blog/2011/gpl-ios-app-store/). I'm not worried about having to recreate this project, since I want to rewrite it anyways.
As a refresher, lc3tools is the assembler, which converts LC-3 assembly, hex, and "binary" text files into LC-3 machine code. That's it.
