Gas-phase component separation

I know ECOGEN can handle the issue of phase change. For the evaporation of liquid alcohol in hot air, can the alcohol vapor and air be simulated as separate components in the gas phase, or must they be treated as a single mixed gas?

I’d appreciate any suggestions on implementing this function.

I'm sorry but, as today, ECOGEN can't model phase change in contact with non-condensable gases. This actually isn't an "easy" task. We started to work on it some time ago but this is an undone work due to the lack of time and funding. Note that this is still a subject we are highly interested in and is part of our priorities.

Thanks for your response. So the current phase change problems that can be modeled are only those between one substance, and can it involve other substances (condensed gases)?

If there are non-condensable gases involved, what are the challenges that need to de addressed?

I’m interested in this problem and would appreciate it if you could give me some references.
