Use fvm --version to check the installed version and https://github.com/conceptadev/fvm/releases/latest to see the latest release (currently 4.1.2). Update through the same method used to install FVM: rerun the official installer, brew update && brew upgrade fvm, choco upgrade fvm, or dart pub global activate fvm. If the version does not change, check for multiple binaries with which -a fvm on macOS/Linux or where.exe fvm on Windows. Closing this question as answered.
