Suggestion: alternative workflow for distributing back annotated students sheets #650

Currently, annotated student sheets are made accessible through a personalized custom link which is typically distributed to students by having correctexam send personalized emails. Here is a proposition for an alternative propocol:

  1. The instructor sends a generic url to the student; say https://correctexam.pages.dev/my
  2. The student follows that url
  3. The landing page contains a simple form to enter an e-mail address
  4. The student provides their academic e-mail address
  5. If that address is in the database, an e-mail is sent to that address, with a link to a (temporary) url
  6. The student follows that url and lands on a page linking to all the sheets for all the exams he took

Advantages:

  • No more mass emailing requiring throttling and the like
  • At any point, a user can retrieve access to his sheets, even if they lost the e-mail or did not receive it at some point
  • At any point, a user can retrieve a full view of all their personal data on CorrectExam

Caveat: instructors presumably will want to control when an exam is ready for access by student. So presumably, by default, the student sees only his own sheet. And sees the annotation and grade only when the intructors have flipped some UI.
