Cannot find Git on Windows

Thanks for reporting this! The issue is that Node.js child_process.spawn() doesn't search PATH on Windows the way cmd.exe does — it's a long-standing quirk that causes ENOENT even when git is properly installed.

Fixed in v2.6.3 by switching to cross-spawn, which handles Windows PATH resolution correctly while keeping the security benefits of array-based argument passing.

Good catch. You're right that v2.6.3 was published with stale build artifacts. The version bump happened but the rebuild didn't, so the package still contained the old v2.6.2 code without the cross-spawn fix.

Just pushed v2.6.4 which has a proper rebuild with the fix actually included. Once it's live on npm, please update and give it another try:

npx @cyanheads/git-mcp-server@2.6.4
