What happened?

Sorry for the brief explination and possible false report but I am unsure if your plugin is expecting a specific tunnel setup or I have done something incorrectly.

I am trying to connect to my self-hosted docker romm instance (tunneled through cloudflare) to my admin account, but it just keeps saying my account does not have proper permissions when I attempt a test.

Do i need to make a new account at the editor tier? could it be something about romms configuration i am overlooking? I honestly don't know, but i adore this project and what it could do for my emulation collection, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

1: QAM>Decky>RomM sync> settings
2: attempt to log into admin account
3: Error Message.

I am currently rewriting the save sync which is more work then anticipated.
Once its done i will look into this issue and report back to you.

To narrow this down I need a bit more info:

1. Plugin logs — on Steam Deck at ~/homebrew/logs/decky-romm-sync/plugin.log, the lines around the failed test connection. Mask any URLs/tokens.
2. RomM logs at the same time (your Docker container logs): did the request reach RomM, and what status did RomM return?
3. Cloudflare setup: cloudflared with just a public hostname, or is Cloudflare Access enforcing auth on top of RomM? The plugin can't pass through CF Access — it needs direct RomM-level auth.
4. Account role in RomM admin → Users: admin / editor / viewer?

If RomM logs show the request never arriving but the plugin got a 403, that's almost certainly Cloudflare Access blocking. If RomM saw the request and returned 403, it's a RomM permission scope issue.
