Blocking secure.gravatar.com breaks avatars on websites #3

With secure.gravatar.com blocked, a lot of my avatars on various websites no longer load, which causes increased loading times on websites using gravatar avatars (I had to wait ~30 seconds for my page to be fully loaded/usable).
Consider giving me an well-explained argument as to why it should stay in the list, cause I don't see the reason.
If you're unable to give me a valid explanation or if this project is just dead, and you won't remove the domain, then I'll just whitelist the domain in my filters. It is my choice to use filter lists afterall.
But yeah, I was just wondering as to why this domain is blocked.
