Describe the bug
The plus sign is a valid character in email addresses. But Ethical Metrics is not sending outbound emails where the address includes a plus sign.
The Plus sign is very helpful when used with GMail, as it can allow you to filter your incoming emails. Google treats the plus sign as a separator, that separates the email user account from any filtering tags. But it puts them all in the same user mailbox. So...
user@gmail.com
user+dappnode1@gmail.com
user+dappnode2@gmail.com
all those email addresses go to the same account. But you can have Gmail put them in 3 separate folders after they arrive. Or you can just use everything after the plus as a note to show you what source the email came from.
I am using this technique to indicate which dappnode sent me the ethical metrics warning. But I realize I'm not getting any emails. Which leads me to believe that the plus sign is being rejected by the outbound mail server.
I could be wrong -- it could be a different issue -- but I know that many email systems erroneously flag the plus sign as a typo.
To Reproduce
Go to
http://my.dappnode/system/notifications
in the field "Ethical metrics notifications by email" put your gmail address, but include "+testing" after your username and before the @ sign.
Save the changes
Unplug your dappnode and wait for notification.
Expected behavior
You should get a telegram notification (if that is on) and an email to your gmail box.
