Suggestions: JSON and Auto Sorting

The program works great. Can I make some suggestions?

1. Save the description into a JSON file with a similar original filename.
2. Auto-sort files accordingly into subfolders (Photos, Videos, Audio, Texts, etc)

I'll work on implementing them this weekend. I'm sick and don't have much else to do. It sounds like fun!

To avoid a breaking change, I'm going to implement top level defaults (either in current folder or user home directory, I haven't decided which). I can house a default name format and other configurable options including folder splitting. Folder splitting will be an optional flag, to avoid nuking people's existing cache's of data (by doubling what could be TB of content) but if configured at top level it'll be the default for new directories. Sound good?

Also, I'm a bit of a weirdo, so if you would clarify:

• what contents would you like in the description file? Post contents or metadata export or tage from the post for some self hosted gallery solutions?

• I'm debating the best way to determine folder contents. Easiest would be extension but it would be messy in code. I'm debating instead using mime type from a head request or post file analysis since there are projects dedicated to mime types and I could import a constantly curated library to handle that for me.

Great, I mean, that you are up for the ideas :-)

I agree, I should be optional who like files to be sorted. However, I would argue, that it should work with already downloaded/curated files. In that way, one does not need to re-download everything fresh. This argument also stands for JSON description, for already curated files.

I think what's lost from looking at photos or watching videos is the context and time (sentiment) when it was posted. So, it would be great to have the time when the content was originally posted, the description/text and perhaps like you said tags. This can be helpful is someone is building an internal search system based on text and of course if one day "party" can also auto-create html files for self-hosted gallery.

For file type, when it is coming from the server, the mime type could work. For already curated files, either the extension or use a third-party library to determine whether it is {image, video, audio, text}.
