RSS feed has the wrong date on my website, does someone know what the cause of the problem is?

A friend of mine wondered why updates to my feed only appeared in his RSS client days later, so he did a bit of digging. Using

curl -I https://pftnhr.xyz/feed/page:feed.xml

He discovered that the content-modified header on my page was showing the wrong date.

The relevant section in core.php reads:

if (!$this->isHeader("Content-Type")) $this->setHeader("Content-Type", "text/html; charset=utf-8");

So, could the content-modified header be dropped, given that last-modified is also included in the header?

Hello Robert, I am not able to reproduce the problem in a brand new installation.

Which version of Datenstrom Yellow and extensions do you use?

Although I'm not particularly familiar with HTTP headers, I can confirm that incorrect dates appear to be stored. Here are some sites with feed extension enabled for further investigation. The first is from Robert and has HSTS and caching enabled.

I've gone and tweaked core.php for now so that it works, and I'll get back to you in more detail shortly. For now, I'm going to treat myself to a few birthday beers. 😄
