Unidentified developer?

I'm getting this mesage on El Capitan, and I have no idea what to do about it. Apparantly the application is from an unidentified developer - whatever that means.

OSX is not my main driver at all so I'm a total utter n00b on this stuff. I did do exactly as described in the readme. That is, download the file, put it in Applications, and set it to autostart in Users&Groups for my account.

I keep getting this message every time I log in.

That's a feature of OSX where they're trying to protect you from installing "unknown" software. Just right-click on the file and choose "Open" and it should install.
