Big thanks to Damien Boureille and Dave for this awesome implementation. I ported this code to cc65 targeting my Atari 800 running on a 6502 at 1.79 mhz. I figured that since it could run on a PDP-11, could it possibly run on an 8-bit 6502?
For those who might be interested, you can check it out here: https://github.com/paul-d-carlson/atari-is-all-you-need. The code should be very portable to other architectures that cc65 can target.
