Hmm,
When i try to install this in laravel 9,

composer require deployer/deployer:v7.0.0-rc.4

I see this eror

Your requirements could not be resolved to an installable set of packages.

  Problem 1
    - Root composer.json requires deployer/deployer v7.0.0-rc.4 -> satisfiable by deployer/deployer[v7.0.0-rc.4].
    - deployer/deployer v7.0.0-rc.4 requires symfony/console ^5 -> found symfony/console[v5.0.0-BETA1, ..., 5.4.x-dev] but the package is fixed to v6.0.5 (lock file version) by a partial update and that version does not match. Make sure you list it as an argument for the update command.

Use the option --with-all-dependencies (-W) to allow upgrades, downgrades and removals for packages currently locked to specific versions.

Installation failed, reverting ./composer.json and ./composer.lock to their original content.

Problem is, that i use recipe/laravel.php, and in dist version, i do not see this :(

Laravel 9 use symfony/console v 6, but i see deployer use v 5, so this is the problem.

Did you resolve this issue now @abrampl ? Upgrading Laravel 8 application now to latest Laravel 9 using Laravel Shift but on running composer update -W I have this issue

- deployer/deployer dev-master requires symfony/process ^5 -> satisfiable by symfony/process[v5.0.0, ..., v5.4.11].
- You can only install one version of a package, so only one of these can be installed: symfony/process[v2.7.0, ..., v2.8.52, v3.0.0, ..., v3.4.47, v4.0.0, ..., v4.4.44, v5.0.0, ..., v5.4.11, v6.0.0, ..., v6.1.3].
- laravel/dusk v7.0.0 requires symfony/process ^6.0 -> satisfiable by symfony/process[v6.0.0, ..., v6.1.3].
- Conclusion: don't install symfony/process v6.0.2 (conflict analysis result)

Remove dev-master and use 7.0.1
