request: Add ability for users to see certain Actions related to their submissions like an admin user can see them.

I'd like to see the ability for a user to see the actions attached to their submission. Preferably only if a system status is “feedback is ready” or similar. But not required.

Also, I'd prefer not to show the "reader" column. Or do show that column but show the reader as "blind" so the user can not see the infomration for the person that read their work.

The goal is for the user to be able to see the files and the feedback from the judges and readers. I think right now it is emailed to them.

I'm happy to contribute on the project and add some of this but I just wanted to bounce it off you to see what you thought.

Be advised: SM allows you (an admin) to designate certain staff groups and/or entire genres as blind. When a blind staff user is looking at submission, or any user looking at a blind submission (defined by genre) then all of the submitter identifying info is redacted. This can all be manged in the following admin locations:

/configuration/groups/
/configuration/genres/

More information about this can be found in the SM Documentation : Configuration Area.

The only caveat here is that the submitter could always include their name and other identifying info in the submission file itself (a cover letter, for example). If your workflow requires anonymous submissions then I would suggest that you alter your SM landing page language (the instruction_text config) to make sure that your submitters are instructed to omit any identifying info from their submission files.

The way SM works now, the submitters never see any info about the readers (judges). They only see the status of their submission (received, accepted, declined, withdrawn, etc...). You (the admin) can completely customize these statuses (the exact words that the submitters see) and can control which junior staff members (non-admin roles) can/can't do specific actions.

hmmm...have to think about this. Again, it runs counter to some of the basic SM design concepts. So then you want the readers (judges) to be completely anonymous to the submitters, but then you want the submitters to see all of the actions that have been done to their submissions? Aren't these two concepts in direct conflict? For example: the submitters would see that ReaderA forwarded their story to ReaderB (with a note, saying "Hey check this one out. I think it has potential" which would be visible to the submitter) but the submitters would not know the identities of the two readers?

Maybe please explain your workflow in greater detail.

It’s not the messages and notes we want our submitters to be able to see, but the attachments sent back and forth. For our purposes, each of the judges upload a scoring rubric, that includes feedback in addition to an evaluation score. And we would like the submitters to be able to receive those uploaded rubrics for the purpose of bettering their writing in the future.
