🚀 Overview

Git Graph Sidebar is an extension designed to elevate the Git workflow by moving the repository graph from a standard editor tab into a dedicated, collapsible dock panel. This allows developers to keep a live, visual representation of their version history visible at all times without sacrificing valuable workspace real estate.

🎨 Core Features

Persistent & Collapsible Layout

1. Dedicated Side Panel: Instead of opening as a main editor tab, the Git graph lives in an independent panel (or sidebar).
2. Smooth Toggle Interface: A slim, vertical button bar on the far right (or left) edge of the application with a small arrow icon to instantly expand or collapse the panel.
3. Contextual Multitasking: Keep your eyes on the branch structure while simultaneously editing code, reviewing diffs, or staging changes.

Enhanced Right-Click Context Menu

Interacting directly with nodes, branches, or commits within the graph opens a robust context menu for fast actions:

1. On a Commit Node: Quick actions for Checkout, Cherry-pick, Revert, Reset (Soft/Mixed/Hard), or creating a new branch/tag.
2. On a Branch Head: Instant access to Merge into current, Rebase current onto this, Push/Pull, or Rename.
3. On a Stash: Preview or pop/apply the stash directly from the visual timeline.
