Problem with python-serial 2.6-1.1

I'm running Debian Wheezy Jessie, and I had pretty big problem with the new(ish) version of python-serial. On 2.6-1.1, elm.py would change the stty settings after the first run. That is, the program ran once but hung on the second try.

After downgrading to python-serial 2.5-2.1, everything worked again.

I'm not 100% on the steps to reproduce faithfully on another computer, it's just a problem I had on mine.

I have not had an issue with pyserial 2.7 on Windows. The only other version I can confirm using is 2.5-2.1 on Raspbian.

Can you provide a stack trace during the failure? elm.py really isn't doing anything special, so hard to see how it would be causing a problem.

I cannot—at least right now. Like I said, I've already downgraded and I need to keep this machine running for the project I'm doing.

I was mistaken before. I'm running Debian 8.1 (Jessie).
