MSI Touchscreens

Would anyone here be able to help me to enable more touch interactions?

Right now it only functions as a left click mouse input. Long press does not work and I would love to have things like pinch to zoom, multi-finger gestures, etc. which I had when working inside apps on windows.

I imagine its a driver issue but don't know where to start and MControl works quite well for the other MSI features so I though to ask here.

Any thoughts are appreciated, thanks!

Try fedora 43 KDE edition from a live USB, it should work much better

I was really more interested in getting it to work on my current distribution, but I did do a little more troubleshooting on my own.

If I go into settings I can assign commands to different gestures but the functionality is sporadic. For instance if I set pinch to zoom to change the volume it doesn't work on the touchscreen but works on the touchpad. If I set it to zoom desktop in/out however it works on both.

I would have expected it to just pass the gesture to the active application to let it do what it was programmed to do upon receipt.

If you really want to stay on linux mint, then i can only recommend the mint forums, i doubt there is anything else i can do to help.

Touchscreens on msi laptops are known to work just fine on linux. DE issues aren't really related to drivers, thats why i suggested trying a modern DE with good touch controls before asking about drivers.
