All images built after dec 2026 might have a broken rails + connection_pool

The 3.x update of connection_pool broke a lot of rails versions

mperham/connection_pool#210

All containers built after the release will have version 3.x and will cause problems with connection_pool for redis or memcached configs ( or whatever else uses connection_pool )

I have created an issue at redmine.org ( https://www.redmine.org/issues/43989 )

Last working version of the container should be 6.0.6 as it was created before the release of v3 of connection_pool

I added a workaround for me, because redmine couldn't start anymore.

I created the file workaround_duplicate_routes.rb with this content:

# redmineup 1.1.7 defines routes that some plugins also define directly,
# causing a crash on Rails 7.2 which now raises on duplicate route names.
# This patch silently skips the duplicate instead of raising.
ActionDispatch::Routing::RouteSet.prepend(Module.new do
  def add_route(mapping, name)
    return if name && named_routes.key?(name)
    super
  end
end)

Then add it in your container image:

COPY workaround_duplicate_routes.rb /usr/src/redmine/config/initializers/workaround_duplicate_routes.rb
