Prompt gets wrapped onto a new line in prezto version on rxvt-unicode

I've been using statusline in termite and st for a while now and it's great! However, I'm trying out rxvt-unicode after a long hiatus and I find that the prompt gets wrapped onto a second line which causes all sorts of weird issues with tab completion:

(urxvt in the back, st in the front)

Any ideas?

I made a crude fix by adding

    if [[ "$TERM" == "rxvt-unicode-256color" ]]; then
        COLUMNS=$(( `tput cols` - 1 ))
    fi

to prompt_statusline_precmd(), so it seems like somehow urxvt is reporting that it has one more column than it actually does?

That's very odd. I actually tried to address the opposite issue; zsh adds a space for padding at the end of the prompt to prevent unwanted scrolling in old terminals. This behavior can be removed in versions >5.0.5. For some reason, I decided to manually cover it up:

RPROMPT='%{$terminfo[cuu1]$terminfo[cuf1]%}$(prompt_statusline -r)%{$(echotc DO 1)%}'

I believe this is what is causing the cursor to move past the edge, meaning the right prompt was not padded by zsh. Could you check if removing $terminfo[cuf1] fixes it?

Alternatively the column count could actually be off.
Either way, it's technically a zsh issue, but I can remove the spacing hack if it helps. Let me know how it goes!
