Moving a maximized window to another workspace with keyboard shortcuts should be animated

Problem

The following is working as expected:

• When the window being moved is not maximized, you can see the background slide behind it.
• When you move a window by dragging and dropping it in the multitasking view, the action is fully animated.

But when you press Meta + Alt + ArrowRight with a maximized window in focus, the workspace switch is unnoticeable.

Proposal

Animate the workspace switching the same way it's animated when you press Meta+ArrowRight.

Yeah I wanted to do this for a while. My idea was to scale down the window a bit so that you can see the background moving but never got around to it yet.

I'm not sure what you mean here? Do you mean we shouldn't fix the moving window in place?

As a side note it is in fact animated like a normal workspace switch but because the maximized window covers everything that is moving it seems as if there's no animation.

Sorry. Yeah, the window being moved should be fixed in place as it switches to another workspace.

What if we used the workspace switcher (on the dock) instead? The dock would have to be displayed throughout the whole transition, even if its settings dictate that it should be hidden. The icon of the app being moved would jump from one workspace to the other. Not sure what that would look like, though. Also, the current workspace focus indicator is too subtle to notice, so I think that could be improved too.
