The continuous auto-contrast function is irritating when working at low beam intensity. I (and Steven) suggest to apply the auto-contrast once when switch between modes (Diff -> Mag, Mag -> Low Mag, Low Mag -> Diff). Steven had suggested a toggle button whether people like continuous auto-contrast, or just once. This is a good idea in case it can be implemented. The continuous auto-contrast is very useful e.g. when making the beam parallel with the high-tension wobbler.
