Tools not showing in claude desktop settings.

I had expected tools to show in the above menu, aka each of the tools.

I have tested that the MCP starts in claude.

I can see that the logs work (I originally tested this on linux, but i thought i'd test it on osx, on a 'supported' claude desktop platform)

I can see the tools list if I run the command:

$ echo '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","method":"tools/list","id":1}' | /Users/wmealing/Projects/erlang/devout/bin/start.sh | jq

Where did I go so wrong, should I repent (for the end is nigh) for using an MCP ?
