Changing the demo Stl files results in error: Segmentation fault (core dumped)

I want to run the program on my own stl files. When i run rosrun request bigBen example with stl file changed i get the error:
Segmentation fault (core dumped).

Hi,
Check the type of STL file you are running. Use the ASCII STL file. The binary STL file does not work.

Removing empty lines in my STL file solved it

Hmmm, I also have this problem, even when I am using the original stl file from github...
