Thanks for reporting this.

Root cause was confirmed: the macOS preset inherits the vcpkg toolchain from VCPKG_ROOT, and when that variable is unset/invalid, CMake resolves to /scripts/buildsystems/vcpkg.cmake and configure fails.

Status update:

• Fix has been merged into main.
• Both macOS builds (GeneralsXZH and GeneralsX) were validated successfully after integration.

What changed:

• Added automatic VCPKG_ROOT detection in macOS build entry scripts.
• If VCPKG_ROOT is invalid, scripts now warn and try common locations (including Homebrew).
• If still missing, scripts now fail with actionable setup guidance.

If anyone still hits this locally, please pull latest main and retry.
