output is broken: flickering stroboscope-like epilepsy-inducing with artifacts #191

I tried to download these two videos:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujhj7mfvIQk
Simply doing it as described:
ytdl $url > $filename
The sound is okay in both. But the video is garbled, flickering between black screen and low-quality image full of artifacts.
Tried some other videos as well, with similar results. No usable video output for any YouTube video so far.
Tried with node versions 12.22.1, 15.14.0 and 16.6.0.
