Description of problem

Folks in Digital Preservation need more guidance about how to engage with Wikidata on digital preservation related topics. It looks like one approach is to:

We need the ability to:

  1. Ask for new properties.
  2. Talk about existing properties.
  3. Anything else?

One approach taken recently was to start a discussion under the "file format identification pattern" (P4152), and link to it from the Informatics discussion: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:WikiProject_Informatics. This should enable us to start talking about file format identification patterns on Wikidata - but how do we codify the approach so it's no longer a mystery?
